Thirumathi Saroja - Thiru Rajarathinam

Welcome

This is a tribute to the extraordinary artistic legacy of my mother Tmt.Saroja Rajarathinam. This website showcases nearly 1,000 meticulously crafted Kolams—an art form rooted in Tamil tradition—that she created with unparalleled imagination and an innovative spirit during the last 27 years of her life. Saroja Rajarathinam’s Kolams, drawn with unwavering passion until just days before her passing at 78, range from dots and lines to vibrant Rangoli, in both color and grayscale. A section is also devoted to her published works featured in Tamil journals. While some Kolams may appear similar, their intricate differences reveal her boundless creativity. Beyond Kolams, she excelled in crafts like stitching, knitting, embroidery, and crafting handbags using plastic wires. Her creations continue to inspire and bring happiness to others, cementing her memory as a cherished artist and compassionate human being.

This website is lovingly dedicated to my parents, whose compassion, progressive mindset and humanitarian intent will endure forever.
